It was an important day at PMS Diecasting Ltd.
Students and teachers, Ramzan Choudhrey and Hayley Thrall, from the ‘Create’ engineering department at Oakwood High School in Rotherham, spent the morning at the unit on Hellaby Industrial Estate, to enjoy a presentation and a tour of the facility.
Passionate about inspiring the next generation, employees at PMS, put together a presentation about their 100% employee owned company and its different departments. Students were able to learn about how the company works, the die casting process, Tooling, 3D Laser Scanning, Reverse Engineering and how these are all used from beginning to end at PMS Diecasting Ltd.
Following the presentation, all students were given safety glasses and ear plugs before touring the factory visiting Laser Scanning, Reverse Engineering, Tooling and the main floor of PMS Diecasting itself, to observe the complete process.
“It gives me a great opportunity to show students how Engineering and Manufacturing can be creative, fun and even considered ‘sexy’ as a place to work”…Gordon Panter, MD of PMS Diecasting.
