IRB 1600 Industrial Robot

With the recent delivery of our new Frech 80 Zn-RC this brings our diecasting machine tally to 14 Frechs and 5 Lamacasters giving us the potential, running at maximum capacity, to diecast in the region of 1 million parts every 24 hrs. This capability would not be possible without our ABB Industrial Robots and software set to work with each Frech machine. Our newest Frech machine has an IRB 1600 Industrial Robot attached and it is the highest performance 10 kg robot. New Lama Joins the Herd

A new LamaCaster H65 Mark 3 die-casting machine has recently joined the Lama herd at PMS. Lama Land now contains 5 LamaCaster die-casting machines. The compact design and small footprint of the Lamas ensure that the space we house them in is very productive. On Friday July 14th it was the Weston Park Hospital Charity Golf Day and “The GLIDE Trophy” inter-company challenge. Gripple (holders), Loadhog, PMS and GoTools entered their teams and between the 4 GLIDE companies we raised £2000 for the Weston Park Charity. New Machines & Ice-creams

We’ve had a busy week at PMS Diecasting. Firstly we took delivery of a new state-of-the-art hot chamber Frech diecasting machine (W80 Zn-Rc) which will enable us to continue our expansion and continue to increase our zinc diecasting output. We have also recently been looking at creating 6 new roles within our business for ‘Diecasting Technicians’. This will involve an hands-on intensive one-to-one training program to up-skill diecasting operators to become skilled technicians ensuring that going forward, PMS Diecasting will continue to produce high-quality castings efficiently and in a timely manner for our growing base of customers. Inspection Room Project

The Quality Inspection room has recently been refurbished at PMS Diecasting as part of our ongoing ‘Project Springboard’. Liam Yarrow, Electrical Apprentice at PMS Diecasting, has been working with Craig Reading on electrically upgrading the inspection room and creating a job report for his NVQ. His report included further details of the below: – Wooden brackets were created and fixed to the wall to screw dado onto.

Three Peaks Challenge

On Saturday 20th May, Matt Hanson set out with 26 members of the Sheffield Wednesday community programme which included his dad, brother and two family friends, to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield. The hike started at 07:00 with a steep incline up the first peak Pen-y-Ghent. After reaching the summit it was then a steady descent to the foot of Whernside passing the Ribblehead viaduct before the heavens opened which made for an intense and challenging half a mile incline to the summit.
